Christians in the Holy Land for many centuries relied on the indigenous art form of the handicraft trade for their livelihood.  But because of the recent sharp fall in tourism and the export market due to social, economic, and political pressures, many Christians are now on the brink of starvation.  Many have suffered the loss of their shops and businesses for more than three years with no real end in sight.

Holy Land Enterprises, established in 2003, was developed to help strengthen and improve the lives of families and communities in the Holy Land through a wide variety of community development and economic assistance programs. we are reaching out to Christians in the world to give them an opportunity to assist their Christian brothers and sisters in the Holy Land.

Our current  project, marketing and distributing handmade religious olive wood and other related products,  will help about 40 Christian  families in the Bethlehem area keep their traditional trades, and survive the unbearable daily life conditions, giving them hope for the future.

Olive wood carving is an ancient art that can be traced back to the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Historical documents provided by Christian pilgrims of that time show the beauty of olive wood rosaries and crucifixes and their popularity among pilgrims.
